Carnaross 1-10 Seneschalstown 2-19
A League (Division 2)
Played in Carnaross – 16/6/2019
Although the home side did manage to carve out a decent amount of chances, the result was never really in doubt.
Seneschalstown established their dominance from an early stage and had 1-3 on the board within ten minutes. Carnaross hung on with points from the McGee brothers, Stephen Flattery and Declan Reilly but were dealt another blow just before half time when Seneschalstown raised their second green flag to take a 2-10 to 0-7 lead at the whistle.
The pace of the game eased off slightly in the second half as the visitors held Carnaross at arm’s length. The home side created some decent opportunities and found the back of the net through Dermot McGee who finished with a personal tally of 1-3. However, Seneschalstown kept the scoreboard ticking over consistently and ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-10.
The loss marks a disappointing end to what was overall an impressive return to Division 2 for the first time in 9 years for the Ross as they were never in danger of relegation and picked up some great results along the way.
