Carnaross Gaelic Football Club County Meath Ireland

Under-12's win inaugural Shane O'Connor Tournament

Carnaross became the first winners of the Shane O'Connor Memorial Cup after beating Round Towers 2-11 to 1-3 in the final on Thursday 28th October 2010. The competition was made up of four Under-12 teams with Round Towers beating Moynalty and Carnaross beating Gaeil Colmcille to qualify for the final. It was the first year that the Shane O'Connor Cup was played for since it was given to the club by Bernard and Alice O'Connor in memory of their late son Shane who died tragically in 2008 aged only 4 years old. Therefore, it was fitting when the cup was presented to Shane's brothers, Brian and Pauric, who were part of the winning team. Carnaross GFC would like to thank Round Towers, Gaeil Colmcille and Moynalty for participating in the tournament and everyone else who helped out and offered their support.
